TRAITS OF WOMEN AND MEN
Women:
Women have strengths that amaze men. They carry children they carry hardships and they carry burdens, yet
they hold happiness, love and joy. They smile when they want to scream. They sing when they want to cry. They cry
when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous. Women wait by the phone for a 'safe at home' call from a friend
or loved one after a snowy drive home.
They are childcare workers, executives, attorneys, stay-at-home moms, biker babes and your neighbours. They wear
suits, jeans, and uniforms. They fight for what they believe in and they stand up against injustice. They walk and talk
the extra mile to get their kids into the rights schools and to get their family the right health care. They go to the doctors
with a frightened friend.
Women are honest, loyal and forgiving. They are smart; they know that knowledge is power, but they still know to
use their softer side to make a point. Women want to be the best for their family, their friends and themselves.
They have sorrow at the death of a friend. Their heart breaks at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when
they think there is no strength left.
A woman can make a romantic evening unforgettable.
Women come in all sizes, colours and shapes. They live in houses, apartments and cabins. They drive, fly, walk,
run or e-mail to show how much they care about you. The heart of a woman is what makes the world spin.
Women do more than just give birth. They bring joy and hope. They give compassion and ideals. They give moral
support to their family and friends. All they want in return are a hug and a smile and for you to do the same for the
people you come in contact with.

With summer fun around the corner so are summer cook outs. If you like ribs this recipe is one of the easiest and is exactly
Though not really for the cholesterol prone.. they are worth induging once in awhile because they are really AMAZING!!
I make them at least once or twice a year usually when they go on sale because they can be a little expensive otherwise.
They usually go on sale around Mother's and Father's Day here so that is when I stock up. They can be done two ways in a
oven proof dish in the oven or on the barbeque. I prefer doing them on the barbeque.
Bar-B-Barn Ribs
2 lbs. Ribs Approx.
1 1/4 cups Brown Sugar 1 cup Apple sauce
1/4 cup Molasses
1/2 cup Ketchup
1/2 tsp Salt 1/2 tsp Paprika 1/2 tsp Cinnamon 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder ( I actually use fresh garlic a clove or 2..:)
6 Tbsp. Lemon Juice 1/2 tsp. Pepper Parboil your ribs. Double this receipe for lots of basting on the barbeque. Mix and heat until boiling. Baste ribs with half the sauce.
Bake in oven proof dish at 325 degrees for 45 minutes. Turn ribs and baste with remaining sauce for another 45 minutes. Enjoy!!! ..:)

April 23 You can have 80 degree weather and a snow bank on your front lawn. The weather has been so nice but unusual here the past couple of days. It's like we went from winter to summer with yesterday's high reaching 80 degrees.. I'm really enjoying it while it lasts though.. This picture was taken early yesterday morning from my bathroom window of my neighbour taking his dog for a walk. Notice he's wearing shorts My snow bank (ski slope) is slowly melting by the weekend it should be gone for good!! You can see a few blogs down on high it was at the beginning of the month. Good riddance..lol
This is a much more common sight around here it's my Tootie having a afternoon snooze. At least he's modest enough to keep his privates covered..lol This cat is such a sweet big baby!!
Have a great day everyone!!

Good morning! Everyone..:)
It's the weekend at last!! It's rainy, cold and miserable here in Montréal. One good point about the weather the rain
washed away the snow and I can actually see a spot of grass on my front lawn this morning..:)
So what is everyone doing this weekend? Any big plans?? Let's see if anyone will answer this question??.. hehe
We are not doing to much. Usually, we go out on Saturday night for dinner to one of our favorite restaurants.
One of my hubby's old jokes.. it's actually getting really stale but he still tells everyone..lol..is: "My wife makes
the same thing every Saturday night" Reservations ..lol Which is probably true most of the time but tonight
I'm making one of my favorite Pasta dishes. Penne alla Vodka. I acquired this recipe a few years ago from my
cousin Donna they have a restaurant in Toronto and they actually serve it in there restaurant..Really good!!!
Thou.. it's a little high in calories I usually substitute the 35% cream for fat free evaporatated milk for a lighter
version.. but NOT tonight. Tonight I'm going all the way..lol I've been craving this for a long time.
Penne alla Vodka
Ingredients
1 lb. Penne or Ziti pasta
4 oz. Prosciutto Italian ham, chopped
Recipe calls for 1 clove garlic I use more 3 or 4
1/2 - 1sp. red pepper flakes
3 Tbs. Olive oil
1 can (28oz.) whole Tomatoes
drained with juice reserved
1 cup 35% heavy cream
1/3 cup vodka (only a kind you would drink)
1/4 cup chopped parsley
3 Tbs. fresh or 1Tbs dried basil
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup grated fresh Parmesan cheese
Preparation
Cook pasta until al dente or according to package directions.
Meanwhile, in a large skillet, sauté prociutto, garlic, and red pepper flakes in oil until garlic
is golden, about 2 min. Add tomatoes, 1/4 cup reserved juice and cream, vodka, parsley, basil
and salt..
Over medium-high heat bring to boil; Let simmer about 5 minutes, stirring to break up tomatoes.
Drain pasta; toss with sauce and cheese.
Serve with a seasonal salad, wine, garlic bread... Enjoy!!!! ..:)
Have a great weekend!!

Well, it does feel a little bit more like Spring . The temperatures seem to be staying in the double digits now which is nice. With one beautiful sunny day yesterday 12 C the snow melted quite a bit. And, another sign that Spring is here is.. the birds. There back!! They start chirping at 4 o'clock in the morning but I love it..lol My back yard backs onto a forest it's actually a Nature reserve so it sounds like a bird sanctuary every morning. Keeps my cats amused..:) I already have the windows open since early this morning.. it's so nice to hear them again. I was going to start some Spring cleaning today but I have to go out again..it will have to keep till tomorrow... It's another beautiful sunny day today.. It will be good to get out the sun is going to do me good.
I think I have a touch of Spring fever already..:) Have you noticed..lol
Hope you all have a good start to the week!!

This is what Spring looks like in my neck of the woods. Believe it or not we had more snow than this...it has
finally started to melt. I can actually see out of my bathroom window on the second floor now which I
couldn't most of the winter. Because of the weight of the snow there was even some reports of roofs caving in.
This years has been an exceptional snow fall for Quebec and many places and I think we are really due for some
nice weather now!! Bring it on !! Please..lol
Have a great day!! Everyone

April Showers
April showers bring May flowers, That is what they say. But if all the showers turned to flowers, We’d have quite a colourful day!
There’d be bluebells and cockleshells, Tulips red and green, Daffodils and Chinese squill, The brightest you’ve ever seen.
You’d see tiger lilies and water lilies, Carnations pink and blue, Forget-me-not and small sundrop Glistening with the dew.
We’d have fireweed and milkweed And many more different flowers. Mexican star and shooting star, Falling in the showers.
And if all the showers turned to flowers On that rainy April day, Would all the flowers turn to showers In the sunny month of May?

It's going to be a quit Easter for me. I feel like an orphan this year...lol My parents are away in Hawaii on a cruise with there friends. Michel is away, it's just my sister and I . So, Sunday I guess I'll do the big sister thing and have her over that's if she's not working.. she's a nurse so she may be on call. I'll make something easy maybe a Ham, Scalloped potatoes, green beans, homemade scones, maybe get a few movies and pig out on chocolate cheese cake OR be good and make Chocolate yogurt sundaes..which I think is just as good and less calories. I kind of promised Jackie Cheese cake though. Hmmm.. will have to think about that one...:)
